Meet Ife Hampton (Instagram: @ifeambessa)
Ife was an attendee of our June Yoga Teacher Training. Hear more about her experience.
What was the highlight of your experience?
The highlight of my experience was getting to bond with a group of dynamic women who I know call sisters as well as learn the importance of compassion, vulnerability and sisterhood.
What makes Get Loved Up’s Yoga Teacher Training Different?
What makes GLU YTT different is that it looks at yoga from a lifestyle perspective we didn’t only learn about the asanas but we were introduced to plant-based living, meditation, and other holistic practices. It is an extremely well-rounded experience.
Who do you think the training is for?
I think anyone who is looking to deepen their yoga practice and explore the world of health and wellness should attend. So really anyone.
What is the #1 thing you took away from the training?
The number one thing that I took away from the training was the importance of choosing love over fear in every situation.
What’s next for you?
I am looking to practice teaching as much as possible in studios and community organizations as well as teach trauma-sensitive yoga to teens in Detroit, Oakland and New Orleans. I also will be attending an internship in Medellin, Colombia to learn how to teach yoga in Spanish. I also plan to one day start a non-profit that uses acro yoga to empower young women of color and build trust and sisterhood.
