Birthdays are such a celebratory time! A time to celebrate new intentions, another cycle around the sun, and new beginnings. This year, my partner and I took our celebrations to the beach as we traveled to the Waldorf Astoria Resort in Los Cabos Pedregal, and we had a complete blast! In this blog, I will be taking you through our travels and experiences while we immersed ourselves in love, self-care, and celebrations!
To set the tone of sharing where we called home for a few days, I want to give a few details about this amazing resort! The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is a luxurious resort located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It is situated on the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The resort is accessible through a private tunnel carved through a mountain, which adds an element of exclusivity and privacy to the property.
The resort offers a range of luxurious accommodations, including guest rooms, suites, and private villas. Each room is designed with modern amenities, elegant décor, and offers stunning ocean views. Many of the guest rooms and villas at the resort come with private infinity pools, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views in a secluded setting.
The resort features several dining options, including gourmet restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. The signature restaurant, El Farallon, is known for its fresh seafood and cliffside setting. The resort boasts a world-class spa offering a range of treatments and therapies inspired by the natural elements of Baja California. Guests can indulge in massages, facials, body treatments, and more.
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal offers a wide range of recreational activities for guests to enjoy. These include swimming in the infinity pools, playing tennis, yoga with a guided instructor, water sports, and exploring the nearby beaches. The resort holds a daily tradition known as the “sunset ceremony.” Guests gather at the resort’s iconic main entrance to watch the sunset while enjoying complimentary margaritas and snacks. The resort provides a range of luxury amenities, including a fitness center, beach access, a kids’ club, and personalized concierge services to cater to guests’ needs and preferences.
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal has received numerous awards and accolades for its exceptional service and luxurious accommodations. It is consistently ranked among the top resorts in Mexico and worldwide.
So let’s dive into how we spent our time.
When we arrived in Los Cabos in the morning, we were picked up by a luxury transportation vehicle that escorted my love and I to the hotel. We were greeted with a hibiscus welcome drink that was so refreshing!
On the first day we wanted to settle in and regroup from traveling, so we didn’t pack the schedule too heavy. We took in the views of the resort and got acclimated to our surroundings. We had lunch and I love that the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal resort had a full Vegan menu. I was so impressed!
That evening, we immersed ourselves in a Mexican Folk Healing Spa treatment. We chose the Damiana & Honey Moon treatment which took place in their gorgeous Spa Couple’s Suite that was so romantic! The décor encourages guests to be relaxed and calm while embodying Native Baja culture’s use of damiana flower to increase energy, calm the nervous system, uplift the spirit, and primarily as a powerful aphrodisiac. The purpose of the damiana flower is to relieve tension in your muscles and send the body into a state of deep relaxation. This was perfect after our day of travel and included herbal body scrubs followed by hydrating agave wraps! They typically use honey but were able to adjust to our preferences and needs. We loved ending our evening with a sense of tranquility. I felt emotional after our brown sugar scrub because it felt so amazing!

Next on our agenda, we enjoyed a personalized yoga experience with instructor Samira. Even while on vacation, it is important for me to take the time to practice yoga for the betterment and connection of my mind, body, and spirit. Yoga on the beach is always invigorating. I feel grounded and humbled to know I am created divinely of the elements surrounding me. Waldorf Astoria’s Spa and Moon Yoga represents just that. I thoroughly enjoyed our semi-private class at the beach palapa; however, they also offer moon yoga classes that include moon flow yoga and meditation under the moon. The structure of the classes are designed to align our mind and body to the sea and moon.

I then enjoyed some time at the spa onsite and it was outstanding! We had a co-ed mineral bath under the waterfall.
Speaking of the moon, we later experienced the Love Awakening Cocoa Ceremony Signature Moon Treatment that is meant for renewal and self-discovery. The treatment began with a seaweed and eucalyptus salt scrub to exfoliate your skin while shifting your perception. The experience is geared towards healing and awakening the body and mind while being stimulated, and ends with a relaxing seaweed wrap! In some cultures, The purpose of the Cocoa Ceremony is often to pay respect to ancestors, seek guidance from them, and ask for their blessings and protection. The ceremony can involve prayers, offerings, singing, dancing, and other rituals designed to establish a connection between the living and the spirits of the deceased. Participants may dress in traditional attire and engage in activities to celebrate their cultural heritage and maintain a link with their ancestors’ wisdom and teachings.
The next morning we were delighted to wake up to a floating breakfast from the comfort of our own suite. The breakfast featured a delicious Vegan menu and I would highly recommend it! The water was the perfect temperature amongst magical views while we ate and enjoyed each other’s company.
We stayed connected and grounded as we did our yoga flows by the ocean with some breath-taking views of the beach.

Don Manuel, an onsite restaurant, offered so many different experiences. During the day, they had a delicious and fresh breakfast buffet and a fresh squeezed juice bar! We enjoyed their versatility with how they catered to everyone’s preferences and the juices were tasty!

Although it was so hard to choose which activity was my favorite, the next experience is dear to our hearts. On the evening of July 30th, we met in the Waldorf Astoria’s lobby for our intentional engagement photo experience. The staff made us feel welcomed as they encouraged us to dress as casual or dressy as we liked. The photo experience was executed by Eminence Photography and had breath-taking views of the cliff side on the Pedregal mountain. We want to thank the staff who made this loving moment magical and possible! I did two outfit changes to commemorate this magical moment. I wore a stunning dress from Black-owned sustainable designer, @thediarrablu. I loved how the dress I wore was transitional and the sleeves could be adjusted to give different looks to go from day to night or offer different looks in general. The next outfit of choice was a fun set from @cabostyle, a lifestyle brand that represents all that Cabo is.

That night, we had dinner at the resort’s signature restaurant, El Farallon. The restaurant specializes in an ocean-to-table that includes wine and cocktail pairings for the menu with spectacular views of the Pacific ocean. We, of course, indulged in the Vegan offerings and the food was incredible! The restaurant is cliffside and our dining experience was under the full moon. We thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom jackfruit and squash soup! To celebrate my birthday the staff did a violin serenade and birthday song.
It was our last day in paradise and we sealed our trip with one last yoga flow on the beach.
On our last night at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal Resort, we dined at Don Miguel’s, a restaurant on site that offers traditional Mexican faire. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the views were again impeccable, and the food was tasty!
We had the opportunity to view our engagement photos with @studioeminence and were so blown away with the amount of guidance, professionalism, and attention to detail. We can’t wait to share them with you all!
The next day, we departed in the Luxury car service and headed back to Atlanta!

From the interactions with the staff, our spa and wellness experiences, mouthwatering Vegan options, the unreal scenery, and of course our engagement!
