How much water do you drink in a day? Sometimes we take water for granted since it’s so readily available and we drink a variety of other drinks such as sodas and alcohol. We forget that we’re mainly made of water and how critical it is that we have enough of it on a daily basis.
Not drinking enough water can make you tired, give you headache or provoke bad digestions. In average, people tend to drink about 1.5 liters when we should be drinking around 3 liters per day. So, now that you know, do you think you can try to commit and drink that amount every day?
It’s actually not that easy to just drink more water like that since our body is not used to it, that’s why I am going to give you some tips to start a more hydrated lifestyle.
- Set a large glass of water by the bed when you go to sleep and drink it first thing when you wake up in the morning. This is helpful for pulling out toxins from the previous day and it refreshes your system, preparing it for the day ahead.
- Keep a bottle of water accessible throughout the day, whether you are on the go or sitting at a desk. Having water close by will remind you to take a sip when thirsty. The first sip will usually let you know how much you need.
- Experiment with adding a few mint leaves, a wedge of lemon, a few slices of cucumber, or a twist of lime is a great way to mix up your routine and might make it more tempting to sip often.
- Add more raw fruits and vegetables high in water content
Just applying one or more of these tips to your daily routine will make such a big overall impact. You will feel how your energy levels go up through the roof, you don’t feel like eating that much all the time and your skin just glows. That is the power of hydration!
What tips do you use to drink more water through the day? I would love to know 🙂
