Just 10 minutes a day will make a big shift on that day’s perspective and in general in your life.
Meditating is taking a bit of me-time to practice self-love, even if you don’t feel like that at the beginning. Meditation is called a practice because, well, it requires practice! Don’t get frustrated if the first days or weeks you don’t manage to sit it a calm position for more than five minutes, it’s totally normal. It will take some time to get used to be in complete silence and not let thoughts rule your brain.
What’s the best way to get started? Try a few guided meditations, you will find plenty around the Internet and Youtube that use different styles and techniques. The best thing about starting out like this is that you can try all the different types you want until you feel like connecting with one specific style of meditation!
One that is also connected with the topic for one of the first days of the challenge is a meditation that helps you manifest what you want. You can try this one also to start out since you won’t see it as just sitting there and emptying your mind, but really working towards a goal you care about.
Once you start with this one for example, you will get used to it and it will be easier to transition to a more relaxing one.
My personal advice?
Start meditating first thing in the morning, just after waking up. Your mind is calmer then and fresh from a good night sleep. Your worries and things to do are still on hold, so use that chance to jump right on to it and practice for at least 5 or 10 minutes if you are a total beginner. If you feel more advanced, I recommend a 20 minute daily practice.
Try it today and let me know: how did you feel just after meditating today?
