From time to time, we may find that our energy feels out of whack. When this happens, no need to fear. Perhaps you just need to step back and stimulate your chakras, or in other words, regulate the main pools of energy within your body.
This article will help you become more in tune with your chakras when they are overactive or out of balance.
Root Chakra
Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra is responsible for our sense of connection and safety. When the root chakra is out of balance, you may be feeling insecure, negative or just disconnected. Those are tell-tale signs that the energy of your root chakra is blocked.
Something you can do to help this is to practice grounding. From child’s pose through yoga or spending more time outdoors with nature, grounding will connect you to the earth and restore the feelings of comfort and closure.
Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra is located in your pelvic area and is responsible for reproductive energy as well as passion and pleasure. Signs that your sacral chakra is out of balance includes any problems that you are dealing within your pelvic area, as well as pain or stiffness in your lower back.
To restore the energy of this chakra, yoga is an excellent option. It is important to do any yoga pose or sequence that gets the energy moving within your hips and pelvic area. Try bridge pose, pigeon pose, cat and cow pose, or the reclining bound angle pose to open up your hips and to re-circulate the energy within your sacral chakra.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar Plexus Chakra is located in your abdomen above your belly button, right in the core/center of your body. This chakra is associated with your ego or identity.
When you are feeling sadness, anxiety, pain, or physically experiencing issues like ulcers within the abdomen, these are indications that the solar plexus is out of balance.
Spend time with yourself to do breathing exercises to cleanse the negative energy out of your system. Repeat positive affirmations that help build your self-worth.
Heart Chakra
Located at the center of your chest, the heart chakra is responsible for love. The heart chakra loses its balance when we experience broken trust or heartbreak. If you also find that you are having a hard time giving or receiving love, perhaps your heart chakra needs to find its balance.
Try heart-opening yoga poses to balance your heart chakra. Anything that expands your chest will benefit this area of energy and create the opportunity to open up your heart to give and receive love freely again.
Throat Chakra
The throat chakra which is located in the throat is responsible for communication. It isn’t always easy to speak the truth or to say how you feel all the time. In these cases, your throat chakra may not be in balance.
Allow yourself to use the power of your voice to sing or hum to give your throat the confidence of expression again. Make sure you are providing your throat with water to cleanse it and to get it back in tone.
Third Eye Chakra
You can find the third eye chakra on your forehead, a bit higher than where your eyes sit. This chakra is responsible for intuition and your sense of self-awareness.
When this chakra is out of balance, you may be feeling as though you are struggling to make certain decision or worrying about what the future may hold for you.
Meditation is a way to get this chakra back in balance. Through meditation, you become more in tune with yourself and put your mind at ease to focus on the present.
Crown Chakra
Lastly, the crown chakra is located at the top of your head and is associated with spirituality and deep understanding. Our crown chakra is out of balance when we lose touch with ourselves and the universe.
To get this chakra back in balance, meditate. It allows us to come back to ourselves and remove our minds from anything that does not have to do with our connection to a sense of enlightenment.
