Hi, I'm Koya

April 27th was Administrative Professionals Day. I think it’s pretty amazing that there is a day set aside for companies to say thank you to secretaries, receptionist and other administrative staff. Essentially, their job is to serve and it is often a thankless job.

Imagine how better all employees (and employers) would feel if that special gratitude was extended beyond one day? Well, I have good news. It can!

Below are 3 Tips For Expressing Gratitude in the workplace

Write thank you notes

When was the last time you have written or received a hand-written note? I’m sure it’s been a while. It’s something special about getting a piece of paper with a positive message on it. If one of your colleagues has done something nice for you, go the extra mile and express gratitude with a hand-written thank you note/card.

Hold the door/elevator

Life gets busy. I get it. We are often rushing from point A to point B daily that we sometimes lose sight of simple things like….manners. So next time you see someone rushing for the elevator or struggling with their bags, offer to hold the door for them. It’s a simple gesture that can go a long way!

Offer to pick up and/or buy lunch for your boss

If your boss is high in-demand, it might be normal for them to be glued to their desk and/or in meetings all day. Extend a little gratitude to them this week by offering pick up and/or buy lunch for them. Again, a simple gesture that is often overlooked. We all deserve lunch!
